In addition to the Automated Rain Gauges (ARG) and Water Level Monitoring Stations (WLMS), the Advance Science and Technology Institute (ASTI) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) developed the Flood Warning Station (FLOWS) to augment the capability of Local Government Units in protecting the people residing in flood vulnerable areas. Approximately reaching the radius of 200-300 meters, the FLOW Station can warn the nearby residents of the impending danger through a Voice Recorded Alarm. The Local Chief Executive, through its Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer can remotely or manually trigger the station to soundoff Level S1 for Alert, S2 for Pre-evacuation, S3 for Force Evacuation and S4 for the Termination of All Warnings.
